Bád Chóil Beag-218

Bád Chóil Beag-218

DATE: WEDNESDAY, JULY 15, 2020
LOCATION: AIRD MHÓR, CONNEMARA

The Gleoteoig, "Bád Chóil Beag" one of the classes of the traditional Connemara sailing boats, enjoys it first trip back to sea after 50 years when it was blessed and launched today, at Céibh na hAirde Móire Connemara. Owned by local John Anthony Mac An Iomaire, the boat was built 100 years ago by his great grandfather, Cóílín Pháidín. Laid up in the 70s Bád Chóil Beag has returned to the ocean wave and will participate in regattas, hopefully, next year. Pic: Seán Ó Mainnín
